Heather PT, MPT, COMT, AIB-VR
Our queen of compassion! Heather comes with a wide-breadth of experience, as she has nearly done it all. She started her career in a large outpatient setting, then took a dive into the inpatient rehab facilities in northern DE. Along with skilled nursing facilities, she has also treated patients in traditional home health to further advance her experience of managing higher acuity conditions. For the past five years, Heather has been back in the outpatient setting with a clinic in Cecil County, MD. With seeing the changes in healthcare and more same-day orthopedic procedures since the onset of COVID-19, Heather will be joining the Next Step team to provide patients with the highest quality of skilled rehab in the comfort of their home setting. Over the past few years, she has dedicated her time and efforts to further her professional skills with attaining a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapy designation from NexGen and most recently became certified in vestibular rehab from the prestigious American Institute of Balance. Heather works and lives in our community and shares a passion for taking care of those around her.
Abigail PT, DPT, OCS, COMT, ITPT, GCS, AIB-VR
Our victor of versatility! Abby has been a physical therapist in Cecil County for over ten years, enjoying every bit of it. She has consistently worked full time in outpatient clinics over her tenure, and has also worked in home health on a part-time basis throughout her time in the county. In addition to her Doctorate of Physical Therapy, she has achieved national board certifications in orthopedics and geriatrics from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist from the Institute of Advanced Musculoskeletal Treatments. Abby has also pursued certifications to treat concussions as an ImPACT Trained Physical Therapist and vestibular conditions through the American Institute of Balance. During her time treating patients in this community, she has seen the need for being as comprehensive and as skilled as possible, with knowing that our small town may not offer as many niche specialty areas of physical therapy that would otherwise be available in more metropolitan areas. She is passionate about strengthening and empowering our older adult population as this leads to fuller, more independent retirement years.
